Anna enlisted into the U.S. Navy in September 1944 at the
age of 20.
After basic training, Anna went to the Navy’s photography school.
Her job during this time was inspecting the Navy’s training films. She served in
the area of Anacostia which is a historic neighborhood in Washington, D.C.
Anna’s most memorable experiences happen when she would see
the thousands of troops that were coming through D.C. on troop trains.
Anna was discharged in September, 1945.
