Profiles Spring-Summer 2014 Flt. #18 HFDFW

John was attending a football when he heard the news of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on that fateful Sunday, December 7, 1941.

He enlisted into the Army Air Corps a little over a year later, that being December 20, 1942.

John was trained to be a pilot and was assigned to the Air Transport Command.

He flew all over the world in the next twenty years. During the war he flew the Newfoundland England route, as well as Africa and later Germany.

John stayed in the new Air Force until April 1, 1963 and retired with the rank of Major.
